After entering a photo in the Digital Photography School weekly challenge, this time about darkness and light, (see https://a.disquscdn.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/1838/6696/original.jpg for mine), I spent a bit of time looking at photos from the summer music festivals.

Starting September 1, I will be doing a 30 day photo challenge (a way to keep the picture taking as the school term starts again).

Over the past year or so, I have been going to concerts and music festivals, mainly heavy metal ones given my son’s interest in the genre.
There is a lot of energy associated with this events, ranging from head banging, crowd surfing, mosh pits and others. From a photographic point of view, this presents opportunities to experiment with capturing the associated motion.
