Quadra Island

We just spent a few days on Quadra Island, one of the Gulf islands off Vancouver Island.  As usual, my camera came with me.

The beach and surrounding area.

As a final post from our time on Quadra Island, here are some pictures of the beaches and surrounding areas.  The weather is starting to move towards fall so a last look at summer.

Boats of all kinds

In keeping with the past several posts about the water, here are some additional pictures of boats of all shapes and sizes.

Remote controlled boats

Big boats

And standup paddle boards (okay, not quite a boat, but close)

Reflections

We spent a few days last week at Taku Resort (http://www.takuresort.com), which has beach side cabins.  (Wonderful place to stay — I highly recommend it).

The one advantage to spending several days in one place, especially beside the beach, is that one can take pictures of the same scene in different light, tides, and weather positions.

Here are some examples:

Life on an island

In these last few days of August, we have been exploring some of the gulf islands, which means using the ferries.  This, of course, prompts opportunities for pictures.
